Water Project
Salinity is gradually increasing in the coastal areas of Bangladesh. As the groundwater level is declining and sea level is rising, people in these regions are facing a severe crisis of safe drinking water. To address this challenge, we have undertaken several initiatives such as installing tube wells, distributing emergency water during summer, and setting up water treatment plants to ensure access to safe water.

Tube-wells
he coastal regions of Bangladesh are facing a severe crisis of safe drinking water. Women and children are often seen walking for kilometers just to collect water a daily reality in these areas. Due to poverty, many families cannot afford to install deep or shallow tube wells.
In response to this situation, we are installing shallow tube wells for poor families. Additionally, through the installation of deep tube wells, we are striving to ensure access to safe drinking water for entire communities, including schools, mosques, and madrasa students.

Water supply
When embankments break and local areas are flooded, the crisis of safe drinking water becomes dire. Waterborne diseases spread rapidly due to lack of clean water. In such emergencies, we distribute safe water on an urgent basis.
Moreover, during the summer, when all water sources dry up, a desperate cry for water echoes across the coast. At that time, we carry out mobile water distribution using water drums to reach those in need.

Water treatment plant
The water crisis in the coastal areas is alarming. Due to high salinity levels, most water sources are not drinkable. In many places, tube wells fail to draw water as the groundwater level has dropped significantly. To address this, initiatives like installing PSFs (Pond Sand Filters) and desalination plants are being taken to purify saline water and make it safe for drinking. Every drop of clean water brings hope. Let’s support sustainable water solutions for our coastal communities.

Water Tank
In coastal areas, the water crisis is severe. For a large part of the year, people depend on monsoon rainwater, as the available water is undrinkable due to high salinity. This results in saline tube well water that cannot be consumed. While monsoon rains provide a temporary relief, rainwater needs to be stored for the rest of the year but poor families often cannot afford the storage tanks.
Coastal Aid is here to help by distributing water tanks to impoverished families in these regions, ensuring they have a means to store clean water during the monsoon for use throughout the dry months.
